Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Social Worker and why might I see one?
In Canada, a Registered Social Worker is a regulated mental health professional trained to support individuals, couples, families, and communities through emotional, relational, and life challenges.
What often makes Social Workers unique is their holistic approach. Along with mental health concerns, Social Workers are trained to understand the broader context of a person’s life, including relationships, trauma, family dynamics, stress, health, and environment.
Registered Social Workers providing psychotherapy typically complete graduate level clinical training, supervised practice hours, and ongoing professional education. Many also have experience working within hospitals, community health settings, schools, crisis services, and trauma programs before entering private practice. I completed my clinical training through the Trauma Therapy Program at Women's College Hospital in Toronto.
Do you take insurance?
I am accepted by most insurance providers but do not bill insurance directly. My online booking, video conferencing, and billing platform The Jane app provides receipts after each session, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement depending on your plan.
Do you offer sessions in person or online?
I offer virtual appointments on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and in-person sessions in Gananoque, Ontario on Wednesday afternoons. Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes, and sound therapy sessions are 60 minutes.
What are your fees?
Individual therapy sessions are $167 for a 50-minute session. Sound healing sessions range from $40 to $205 depending on whether you are attending an individual or group session.
Locations and Availability
I am licensed to provide online psychotherapy anywhere in Ontario.
In-person therapy sessions are offered in Gananoque, Ontario. Group sound and somatic integration sessions are held regularly in Toronto and throughout the Gananoque and Thousand Islands region.
What values guide you in your work as a therapist?
My practice is grounded in the social work values of equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression. I believe every person deserves care that is respectful, culturally informed, and free from judgement. I work from a whole-person perspective, honouring the connection between body, mind, and spirit in the healing process. Working collaboratively guides the direction of our work together.
What treatment modalities do you use?
I draw on neuroscience-informed therapies, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT), Mindfulness, Sound Therapy, Breathwork, and Restorative Yoga.
